Robinson's Heroics Lift Tigers Past Waukee
Xzavion Robinson's big plays on both sides of the ball propelled Valley to a thrilling 24-21 season-opening victory over Waukee.
Robinson, a three-star cornerback who recently committed to Iowa State, made his presence felt from the outset.
On the opening kickoff, Robinson returned the ball 52 yards to set up Valley's first scoring drive.
He later intercepted a pass in the end zone in the third quarter, preserving a 17-14 lead for the Tigers.
Robinson also contributed offensively, rushing for 56 yards on 11 carries.
Valley hung on to the win despite surrendering a late touchdown, securing a hard-fought victory in their season opener.
