Corey Perry Signs One-Year Deal with Blackhawks

Blackhawks Continue to Build Young Core

Perry Brings Veteran Leadership and Scoring Touch

The Chicago Blackhawks have signed forward Corey Perry to a one-year, $4 million contract, the team announced Friday. Perry was acquired by the Blackhawks in a trade with the Montreal Canadiens on Thursday.

The 37-year-old Perry is a veteran of 17 NHL seasons, having played for the Anaheim Ducks, Edmonton Oilers, Dallas Stars, and Canadiens. He has won the Stanley Cup three times, with the Ducks in 2007 and 2016 and with the Stars in 2020.

Perry is a skilled scorer with a knack for finding the back of the net in key moments. He has scored at least 20 goals in 10 of his 17 seasons. He is also a physical player who can provide leadership in the locker room.

The Blackhawks are hoping that Perry can provide a veteran presence to a young team that is still developing. The Hawks have a number of talented young players, but they lack experience. Perry can help them navigate the ups and downs of an NHL season and help them reach their potential.
