VANCOUVER -- Thatcher Demko isn't sure if he will return this weekend, but the Vancouver Canucks No. 1 goalie is confident he will be ready.

Demko missed some time at the end of the season with a lower-body injury. The Canucks played the long game and took their time in his recovery. Demko, who returned for the final two games of the regular season, was 35-14-2 with a 2.45 goals-against average, .918 save percentage, and five shutouts.

The Canucks lost Game 1 to the Nashville Predators 4-1 on Wednesday, and Demko allowed three goals on 11 shots. He was replaced by Jaroslav Halak.

Canucks coach Rick Tocchet said Demko will be a game-time decision for Game 2 on Friday.

"We'll see how he feels," Tocchet said. "He's a battler. He wants to be in there. We'll see if he can go."
